<A Unification Thought Reflection>
On the Growth of the Spirit Self, the Bestowal of Creativity, and
the Qualification of Humanity as Co-Creators
1. Quotation from Unification Thought
A. Definition of Spirit Self Growth
The growth of the spirit self refers to:
• The development of spiritual character and personal integrity
• The elevation of heartistic standards
• In essence, it is the growth of one’s heart posture to practice God’s love
B. Method of Spirit Self Growth
Such growth is achieved only through the fulfillment of one’s portion of responsibility.
C. Definition of Portion of Responsibility
This refers to:
• Maintaining unwavering faith in God
• Obeying His commandments
• Overcoming countless internal and external trials without assistance, through one’s own judgment and decisions
• Persistently practicing love throughout
D. Reason for Bestowing Creativity to Humans
God established specific conditions (obedience to commandments and self-perfection)
so that Adam could be recognized as having participated in the creation of the universe—
thus qualifying him as a co-creator.
Why?
Because in terms of value,
the worth of a single human being equals that of the entire universe.
Human beings are the substantial embodiment of the cosmos—
a microcosm.
And only through human perfection can the creation of the universe be completed.
Therefore, if Adam perfects himself,
he stands in a position equivalent in value to having created the universe.
2. Human Perfection, Creativity, and
the Qualification of Dominion
Human beings were created as sons of God.
And God, desiring to bestow His qualification as Creator upon His son,
established conditions through which Adam could be recognized
as having participated in the creation of the universe.
3. Conclusion
If humanity had not fallen—
if humans had fully inherited God’s creative nature—
they would have first inherited God’s heart:
the emotional impulse to seek joy through love.
Just as God is a God of love,
humans would have become beings of love.
This means that all dominion activities
would have become love-centered actions
rooted in heart.
