< Unification Thought:
A Study on the Confusion
between Spiritual Unity and The Absolute Spirit >
1. Citation from Unification Thought
• However, from the perspective of Unification Thought,
God’s dual Characteristics are, of course, His Original Internal Nature and Original External Form,
but the Logos’ dual Characteristics are its Inner Internal Nature and Inner External Form.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Thus, when it is said that created beings resemble God’s dual Characteristics,
it means they resemble God’s Original Internal Nature and Original External Form.
And when it is said that they resemble the Logos’ dual Characteristics,
it means they resemble the Logos’ Inner Internal Nature and Inner External Form.
Then, what specifically are the Inner Internal Nature and Inner External Form of the Logos,
which all things in the Universe resemble?
As already stated,
the Logos, in the later stage of inner give-and-take action,
was a completed conception, a living conception,
born when a part of Spiritual Unity (the unified body of intellect, emotion, and will)
was infused into the proto-type idea (mold-like idea)
that had been formed in the earlier stage.
Therefore,
the Logos’ Inner Internal Nature is the partial function of intellect, emotion, and will
that has been infused into the proto-type idea,
and the Logos’ Inner External Form is precisely that proto-type idea itself.
Such Inner Internal Nature and Inner External Form,
bearing this content,
are what constitute the “dual Characteristics of the Logos.”
(Unification Thought, p.139, bottom line 5 ~ p.140, top line 9)
2. Principled Understanding of the Quoted Passage
• The formation of the Pre-Logos (静的 靑寫眞, Blueprint, 靜的 映像)
was, centered on purpose, a four-position foundation,
where the Internal Nature was the Inner Internal Nature—
namely Spiritual Unity (the unified body of intellect, emotion, and will),
and the External Form was the Inner External Form—
namely the proto-type idea (ideas, concepts, principles, laws, rules, mathematics, particulars, universals, positivity, negativity).
Through dynamic developmental give-and-take action,
the result was independence, multiplication, and the generation of a new entity: this was the Pre-Logos.
In the quoted passage A, it is explained that:
The Logos, in the later stage of inner give-and-take action,
was a completed conception, a living conception,
born when a part of Spiritual Unity (intellect, emotion, will)
was infused into the proto-type idea (mold-like idea)
that had been formed in the earlier stage.
~ Thus, it is described that
into the already generated Pre-Logos (which already possessed Spiritual Unity as its Inner Internal Nature),
again, separately and doubly,
the same Spiritual Unity (intellect, emotion, will) was re-infused,
and this doubly re-infused Spiritual Unity was claimed to be its Internal Nature.
However, at that point the author was confusing
the Spiritual Unity which had already participated as Inner Internal Nature in the initial formation of the static Pre-Logos,
with the newly added external element infused into the Pre-Logos
to activate it into the later stage dynamic Post-Logos (a living, vitalized conception).
That newly infused external element was The Absolute Spirit: God’s Heart, Love, and Creativity.
Spiritual Unity had already participated as Inner Internal Nature in the formation of the Pre-Logos.
The external element newly infused to activate the Pre-Logos (static image, blueprint, design plan)
was The Absolute Spirit (God’s Love, Heart, Creativity).
Thus,
to transform the Pre-Logos into the vitalized Post-Logos (dynamic image endowed with life),
the newly infused external element was The Absolute Spirit (God’s Love, Heart, Creativity).
This symbolically infused Absolute Spirit was precisely
the instinctual nature (本能性) possessed by The Physical Body of Human and All things in the Universe.
(cf. Genesis 2:7, first part: “God formed man’s body from the dust of the ground…”)
Through the give-and-take action between this Post-Logos and the Prime Force
(Pre-Energy: 前-Energy, the Prime Force resulting from external inner give-and-take action),
The Physical Body of Human and All things in the Universe were completed.
(cf. Genesis 2:7, first part completed)
At this stage, the creation of the human body and the universe, endowed with instinctual nature, was finished.
Yet, an additional special stage of creation was given uniquely to humankind:
Into The Physical Body of Human was newly infused the external element of The Absolute Spirit (God’s Love, Heart, Creativity) in The Physical Body of Human,
and thereby God created the Spiritual Body of Human (The Formation stage of Spiritual Body).
(cf. Genesis 2:7, latter part: “God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul…”)
Thus, the creation was completed:
The Physical Body of Human and All things in the Universe
(endowed with instinctual nature, the symbolic substantial entity of God’s spiritual essence),
and the Spiritual Body of Human (the Image-substantial entity of God’s spiritual essence,
The Formation stage of Spiritual Body).
3. Conclusion
Unification Thought, in its explanation,
confused the Inner Internal Nature of the Pre-Logos—namely Spiritual Unity (the unified body of intellect, emotion, and will)—
with the Absolute Spirit (God’s Heart, Love, Creativity) that was infused into the Post-Logos.
Through the infusion of the Absolute Spirit (God’s Heart, Love, Creativity) into the Pre-Logos,
the activated Post-Logos entered into give-and-take action with God’s Original External Form
(Pre-Energy: 前-Energy, the Prime Force resulting from external inner give-and-take action).
As a result,
The Physical Body of Human and All things in the Universe, endowed with instinctual nature
(symbolic infusion of God’s spiritual essence), were completed.
(cf. Genesis 2:7, first part completed).
Finally, in the ultimate stage of creation unique to humankind,
God infused His spiritual essence in The Physical Body of Human,
and thereby created the Spiritual Body of Human (The Formation stage of Spiritual Body).
(cf. Genesis 2:7, latter part completed).
