< Providential Secrets Behind the Birth of the Central Figure (Messiah)
in the History of Restoration. III. >
1. Citations from Cheon Seong Gyeong
“Jesus could not be born through the lawful wife.
He was born through a concubine.”
(Cheon Seong Gyeong, p.1142–1143)
“The relationship between Jesus and John the Baptist is that of Cain and Abel.
They were brothers—yet undisclosed brothers.
John was born of the first wife;
Jesus was born of the second wife.
He must not be born of the first wife.”
“Thus, in the Last Days, disorder in love appears.
Women sell their bodies; women must be liberated.
Through a harlot, a prostitute, a woman of the street,
a great person will be born.”
“A concubine represents the position that restores the love stolen by the Fall.
The first position is Cain’s love;
the second position is Heaven’s love.
Therefore, Heaven works through the second.”
“Joseph and Jesus were both ‘second-born’ in this providential sense.”
(Cheon Seong Gyeong, p.1149)
2. Scriptural and Principle-Based Interpretation.
● Joseph, son of Jacob
Joseph (the 11th son of Jacob) was born not from Leah, the lawful wife,
but from Rachel, the younger sister—
a position equivalent to a concubine in providential terms.
● Judah and Tamar
Tamar deceived her father-in-law Judah and bore Perez and Zerah.
Jesus is a descendant of Perez.
Tamar stood in the providential position of the ‘second’, not the lawful wife.
● Zechariah and Mary
Jesus was born through Mary, the sister-in-law of Zechariah the High Priest.
Mary was not Zechariah’s lawful wife—
again, the providential ‘second’ position.
3. Providential Phenomena in the Last Days.
The Cheon Seong Gyeong passages reveal a consistent pattern:
• The first position = Cain-type love
• The second position = Heaven’s love
• Great providential figures emerge through the second position
• Hence, in the Last Days,
“a harlot, a prostitute, a woman of the street” becomes the channel of Heaven
• Joseph and Jesus were both “second-born” in this providential sense
This forms a law of bloodline restoration.
4. Consideration on the Birth Mystery of the Returning Messiah
● Did Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s birth follow the same providential law?
The Moon family lineage contains remarkable historical and spiritual elements.
● Moon Jeong-heul (grandfather)
• A prosperous and benevolent figure
• The family was known for generosity and moral integrity
● Rev. Moon Yoon-guk (granduncle)
• Pastor, scholar, teacher, independence activist
• Donated his entire fortune to the Korean Provisional Government in Shanghai
• Awarded the Presidential Citation (1977) and Order of Merit for National Foundation (1990)
• Associated with President Syngman Rhee and educator Lee Seung-hoon
• Revered within the Unification movement as a saint-like figure
Rev. Moon Sun Myung described him as
“a legendary figure of our family”
and the spiritual root of his own mission.
● Providential parallel structure (hypothetical)
Thus:
• Moon Yoon-guk = Zechariah’s providential position
• Kim Kyung-gye = Tamar/Mary’s providential position
• Rev. Moon = Heaven’s ‘second-born’ providential fruit
● Special reverence by Rev. Moon
Rev. Moon later relocated Rev. Moon Yoon-guk’s grave to his own family burial ground—
a decision that became a national legal case due to opposition from established churches.
This suggests that Rev. Moon regarded him not merely as a relative,
but as a providential root of his own lineage.
5. Conclusion.
If this providential hypothesis is true, then:
“The Returning Messiah was born upon a purified lineage,
following the same heavenly law that governed the birth of the First Messiah—
through the second position, the Abel-type love.”
The hidden pathways of history
continue to reveal the mysterious and beautiful course
of God’s providence of restoration.
